Retail Space Wilmington, NC – Wrightsville Beach to Get New Coffee Shop

Wrightsville Beach, NC will soon have a new coffee shop on the island. The Daily Grind will be occupying the former Intracoastal Realty office on 534 Causeway Drive. The 2,000 sq.ft. free-standing building is located beside The Landing shopping center. Commonwealth Commerical Properties real estate broker, Amy Spicuzza served as Landlord representative in the lease transaction.

Rarely does a lease happen without a few bumps in the road. The owner of the building, Jim Wallace, and the WUMC group settled a dispute over parking lot easements between the commercial property on Causeway Drive and the adjoining properties owned by Wrightsville United Methodist Church. This resolution freed up 10 of the 12 required spaces for the Daily Grind’s use. The Board of Alderman granted an exemption for the 2 additional parking spaces.

The Daily Grind is projected to open in July 2011. Owner/Operator, Tracey Hansen, has two other locations; Surf City and Jacksonville. The Surf City location, which will now serve as their headquarters, features specialty coffee drinks, teas, smoothies, desserts, and yes, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
